A highly detailed, important masterpiece of rug weaving from Tabriz, circa 1970.
The imperial hunting design is drawn from Persian miniature art of the mid-16th century, prior to when Tabhaz moved the capital of Iran from Tabriz to Kasvin. Take a close look at the incredible rendering of animals, birds, and illustrious floral styles.
This is one of the great gems of the mid-20th century rug period and the dyes have settled well.
The pile is in perfect, like-new condition.
A prestigious seller of rare oriental rugs or a well-known auction house would easily fetch over $200,000 for a rug like this.
